And on this day in 1941 – Legendary bandleader Duke Ellington recorded the jazz classic “Take The A Train” in Hollywood, California. The song was arranged by his longtime partner and songwriter Billy Strayhorn and it became their signature song.
And on this day in 1969 – A beautician named Vickie Jones was arrested for fraud by impersonating the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin at a concert in Fort Myers, Florida. She must have sang her butt off because no one asked for a refund.
