And on this day in 1920 – Tuskegee Airman Gen Daniel Chappie James was born in Pensacola Florida. Chappie James learned to fly while attending Tuskegee Institute and after graduation in 1942 he continued civil pilot trainee until he received an appointment as a cadet in the US Army Corp in 1943. Then in September of 1975 he become the first black officer in the history of the United States Military to obtain a 4 Star Full General rank.
And on this day in 1974 – Michael D’Angelo Archer also known as the singer-songwriter D’Angelo was born in Richmond, Virginia.
