In 1934 Baseball Hall of Famer – “hammering” Hank Aaron was born in Mobile Alabama. During his 23 year career he became excellent outfielder but is better remembered for the 3771 hits and 755 homeruns he scored, and he still remains the homerun king.
On this day in 1960 Boston Celtic center, Bill Russell scored 23 points and set the NBA rebound record by collecting 51 in a game they won over Syracuse at the Boston Garden and by the way he was the first black coach in the National Basketball Association.
On this day in 1987, NBA great Walt Frazier was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
